Japan's Nintendo Power Service

Nintendo Power was a service offered from 1997 for Super Famicom and from 1999 for GameBoy Color. The service consisted of selling rewritable cartridge that consumer could load game on it. Games could be buy from store which has NP Station. The service was discontinued in 2007

It was possible to load multiple on on a single cardridge. On power up a display menu is show to select the game you want to play with. SFC card has 4 Mbytes space on it and GBC card has only 1 Mbyte. Since the GB Flash size was so small most of time only one game could be loaded since most popular game like Zelda DX and Mario DX are both 1 Mbytes games.

Japanese version of Zelda DX and A Link To The Past where offered on the service as you can see on picture if you hit Read More ;). Btw both game are the same as retail version.

Zelda in China

Zelda OOT was one of the launch title of the iQue Player. The console itseft is only a controller containing an N64-on-a-chip with some enhancement like real-time-clock and USB.

For buying you had two option either go to an iQue station to download the game or buy the game online and download it into the iQue using an USB cable (which I've done myself ;) ). It was also possible to download a electronic version of the manual within the iQue tough a paper version was also available in store.

The game itself is identical to the JAP/US v1.2 of the game exept that the game is in Chinese instead of Japanese/English.
